Fuel pump location

After the boat survey, I received a list of 18 items that needed Immediate attention... and 105 (4pages) of detailed instructions on what needs to be addressed in the future. I have never had a survey done before but I cannot believe you can get a better survey than this one, I was impressed. I think the Surveyor was recommended on this or the C30 site His name Is Randell Sharpe and he works out of Alameda, CA.
To get to the point: "There was a Facet electric fuel pump installed under the port dinette seat, ABYC standards recommend that this pump be mounted within 12 inches of the auxiliary engine."
Has anybody done this?

Every Universal engine I've seen has it mounted on the back of the engine over the bell housing, but I've only ever seen half a dozen or so different ones.

It shouldn't be that difficult to move it, if you do that you should run a new fuel line from the tank to the pump and not put a potential leak spot joint in the existing line. Change the filter in the pump while you're at it, if it's the canister type pump it is under the cap on the bottom.

The C36 owners manual shows it under the settee... was it moved on later models? It also shows it hooked up wrong... The pump should be pulling fuel from the filter not the tank. My pump was full of crud.
Yes new hoses and filter are going in.

My 1990 Mk1 has the electric fuel pump under the port seat, have had no problem. I bought a spare pump from yacht supply for 88$ with shipping Catalina yachts wants about 270$
