Well over a month ago I submitted a technical article on my installation of a Raymarine Evolution Autopilot with linear drive on my MK1. I have heard nothing - and don't see it posted - is there a process step I missed?? Do I need to rewrite it to make it more understandable ??
Thanks
Les

Maybe there was a computer/technical error with the server, when you posted?
Anyway, I'm interested. Looking to install one myself as well.

The technical editor for MKI might not have checked the submission list in some time because I can see your posting is pending publication. I know that I forget to check on submissions and they stay in pending until I take an action. I'll send a not to the editor to speed things up.
Thank-you for the reminder.....

Thanks Nick / newguy!! - yes there are a few pictures - The area is buttoned up now - but will need to get back in to lube things up in a few months so can get additional if requested.
I added a pic showing the tiller, rudder reference and linear drive --

Hi, I also installed some time ago a below deck autopilot B@G with a linear drive from the same brand., The advantage from those of us with a MK I is that the ram can be installed under the swim platform so give a more clean and easy installation of the ram.
The B&G T1 hydraulic linear is compact, some 12 cm high so there is enough place to fix it under the swim platform. Next time on board I will take some pictures. Rest of the installation is quite similar with the Edson tiller arm, ruder sensor, etc...
I have extensively used the B@G ac42 autopilot with the T1 linear drive and I'm really delighted. The swim platform of the MK I seems to be solid enough to support the efforts of the ram.

Hi Les,
My apologies for not getting to this sooner, I have added the article to the technical articles section under "Upgrades". You should be able to view it now.

May I suggest that the article be re-saved as a pdf so that anyone with Adobe Reader can view it. This was in a .docx file format which requires not only Office, but the latest version of Office, so it might have a limited audience.
In any event, it's good to have a Mk I below-deck article in the library and I look forward to seeing it when I can access it. Thanks.
