Having a problem with my down haul cam cleat. Normally you push the lever over and it locks in the open position. All of a sudden, my cleat is popping up and catching the line as I pull it thru the cleat.
Any suggestions? I have not taken the line off the cleat so maybe that's an issue, but I do not see how the cleat can be removed from the boat. Are there screws under the line?
Thanks...

If it's one of the rope clutches that the stock boat is equipped with, then yes there's two machine screws under the rope that tap into a threaded plate imbedded into the coach roof. The Winter 2014 issue of Mainsheet has an article on the care and feeding of the stock rope clutches. If it's one of the rope clutches that is stand-alone or an outside member of a group, then you might be able to adjust without removal.

Thanks Nick... its both the external one and a stand alone. I'll have to find that article.

Nick....
Just to close this out, got the article and followed your instructions. The clutch on my boat is not Gauhauer but the construct was the same and all it took was tightening the one adjustment screw.
Thanks for your help.
