Hi all;
Does anyone know for sure if Catalina used the Target Coatings Oxford Hybrid on the cabin sole? My boat is a year 2000 36MKII. I know they used it on the rest of the woodowrk.
Thanks!!!

I was told they did by the US distributor for Target, but the manual in our boat had a page in it from the factory with the various products used and for the flooring it had some product line that wasn't Target. I don't have the manual here it's at the boat and I can't remember what it said, but I could not find any product via Google that matched that line. So I used the Target product to refinish our floor panels, was told it was fine for that purpose by the distributor, but I have no idea yet on how they will wear only got them back down this week.
On my 1996 they used 2 types in the cabin...
Target Enterprises, 1 800 752 9922, Oxford Hybrid Satin #7232, Gloss #7132.

I recoated all of the varnish below decks a couple of years ago. I used the Target water-based varnish on everything except the cabin sole and the handrails. I didn't like the look of the existing varnish on the cabin sole. I ended up putting on two coats of Epifanes Rubbed Effect varnish on the sole. I prepped the sole by roughing it up with a brown 3M Scotch-brand pad. It came out really well, and looks more lustrous, with a satin finish. It appears to be holding up well and does not show scratches. I varnished the handrails on the ceiling down below with an Epifanes high gloss varnish, just to give a little sparkle to the cabin.
