Bow Chock Installation

My boat has no "Bow Chocks" for mooring lines. Has anyone installed Bow Chocks and what advice can you provide?  I am thinking of ordering 6" lengh for a mazimum 1" line? What size screws?  Do you drill or tap the screw hole?

Bob,

The design of the C36 (and Catalinas in general) has been praised by experts when talking about mooring, anchoring, and heavy weather.  Having the bow cleats outboard, WITHOUT the use of chocks, causes less chafe on lines.  I don't know the arrangement on #1796, but if for some reason you don't have outboard cleats, I think that would be a better addition than chocks.  Just my $0.02.
