Anyone convert the manual pump head to electric?

If so, who's kit did you use?
Was it a good upgade, would you do it again?
Does it use to much water.

I hear the vac-u-flush saves on water but very spendy and takes up a lot of storage.

Any ideas?

Thanks

Bob, and to others new to the C36IA, it would probably save you a lot of time, as well as open the door to a brand new world of upgrade possibilities, if you were to spend 15 minutes or so rummaging around the C36IA website. Particularly, I urge you to go to the Home Page (you can just click on the link in the lower right hand corner of this very page to get there), and then click on the Articles tab. There are six - count em', SIX - pages of C36 upgrade articles ready for you to print out, including two different electric head upgrades.

If there weren't enough reasons to own a Catalina 36, the C36IA offers so much more in the way of ideas, upgrades, advice and support. The C36IA enhances the Value of your boat ownership experience, and perhaps even your boat's resale value.

I applaud your efforts to help steer folks in the right direction, Larry.

Questions are not to be discouraged, but usually it's best if they are asked after checking out what is already available for viewing.

Wow, I was looking at the convenience of the electric head, but the lack of clutter etc is amazing!

No pump handle, less plumbing etc.

Thanks Pat, this answers some of my questions, which the UPgrade site did not. It only tells how to do it, not what they choose and why and were they happy with it etc.

Thanks

The wood seems lighter and the fiberglass seems shinnier?

I wonder if I cna get my old fiberglass to shine like that?

Hi Bob,

I have just upgraded a 2001 MKII which came with a Jabsco manual toilet to electric flush using Jabsco kit part # 29200-0120. Whilst it is quite an exepnsive option, it was very easy and required NO change in the toilet itself, or any mounting modifications (I hate drilling holes into my boat!)

It is literally a replacement for the manual pump - see http://www.whitworths.com.au/pdf/89524_Electric_Flush_Pump.pdf

I liked the macerator action in the electric upgrade and have in fact taken the power from the macerator pump for the holding tank and split this off to feed the toilet pump.

In all, it took me around 2 hours to complete the job and I am not a serious handyman!

Hope this helps,
Nigel
