Anchor light fixture make/model

Does anyone with a C36 close to a 1999 model year know what make/model fixture is used for the anchor light?

Thanks!

Duane; I'm fairly certain this is the one that is on my '97. When I had the mast down a couple years ago, I found the lens was highly crazed. I bought a new one, and just screwed the lens and cap on the old base. So it hadn't changed from what was installed by Catalina.

I'm pretty sure I found it at West Marine by taking the old lens and cap with me to compare.

Thanks, Gary. My lens is tapered somewhat with no black cap on top. I guess what I need to do is get back up there high enough to really see and work on it.

The bulb base is clean, but the bulb won't seat properly or stay lit. Maybe the fixture is corroded. I guess bringing a mirror up would have helped. My 'helper' was in a hurry so I could not dally up there.

If your going to all that trouble, wouldn't it be worth replacing it with an LED light?

Hi, Chuck. I had an LED bulb in there which worked great for several years and then stopped working. The bulb is still fine, however.

I guess I should research more on LED fixtures as they may be more optimal than an LED bulb in a standard fixture.

Duane,
I replaced my anchor light last year using this one from Marinebeam.

Thanks, Gary.

Should I assume you did this with the mast down? I could certainly do the job from the bosun's chair, but I have to rig myself to get higher on the mast. Perhaps I need to install steps at the top.

Duane, if you want to do that you can use our Mast Mate which is a system you run up the track and consists of steps that will put you high enough to work on the top of the mast. Let me know.

Thanks, David. I realized after thinking about it that I have a pair of foot straps. I can attached those to the topping lift and stand on those. Then I have to use the spin halyard as my safety line.

I will give it more thought and see what I decide to do.

Duane,
To answer your question I did have it done with the mast down last spring. Didn't have to replace any wiring as I did the steaming light and deck light as well. Neat thing about LED they don't require the same voltage as incandescent lights so even the older wire does not need to be replaced.

Thanks, Gary. I actually have one but I have not been able to use it successfully. I guess I am ready to try it again, especially now that I dropped 20 pounds.

Those were the foot straps I referred to in my previous post.

My boat came with a top climber, it works great once you get the hang of it . To come down easy ,if you have some one to help is to just use them to lower the halard .To work on the very top make sure the halard goes up as far as possible
