Any recomendations for a replacemwent battery charger? I currently have a Promatic 30-3 (original to my 98 MK2) It is still wolking fine, just not sure how long it may last, so I'm being proactive.
Thanks
Rich

We changed ours, some years ago, with a Mastervolt 3/50ah.

We also upgraded to a mastervolt 6 years ago. 3/40 amp - my house bank is 360AH. I read somewhere that charge capacity should be ~ 10% of bank capacity or larger.

I replaced both 12 V (80 pounds each) starter batteries summer 2015. My 2000 Catalina 36 hull1897 has the 40 amp original Pro Mariner charger. Last weekend I decided to add water to the lead acid batteries. Each took 1/2 gallon of distilled water. Marina mechanic is suggesting charger is cooking the batteries and replacement of charger. I think he is right...what do you think???
