Refer lid insulation

My wife pointed out to me that the top of the refer is angled and has a void with no insulation on the sides. has any one put more on the side of the top to fill in this space?

William, I believe it is made like that for a reason. I have upgraded our fridge and freezer a lot. I removed the underside of the lid as I installed a new corian counter top in the whole boat. I had to keep the angle close to the same with our new tops so they would close. But I was able to add just a tad bit more of blue styrofoam to the top. If you made tops that pulled straight out you could add a lot more insulation to the sides.
