Hi! I am new to the Association and my wife and I are looking for a C-36. Late 80's to mid 90's would be great. I live near San Francisco, but I'm willing to travel (especially south) If anyone has any leads, I would certainly appreciate it.
Thanks, David

www.latitude38.com, download the magazine and read both the personal ads at the back and Farallon Yacht Sales usually within the first 20 pages. CL, too. You could also try the local fleet, I think it's #9.

Mike, one of the boats we were interested in was a 1987 on Yachtworld in Marina Del Rey!
Do you know anything about it? Thanks, David

Hi David. Not being in the market, I don't know that particular boat, but it looks pretty clean from the photos. The upholstery looks in real good condition. I'll be at my boat over the weekend. If there's anything you would like me to look at on the boat, let me know. I can hook up with the broker and go see it for you.

Hi David-
If you're looking for a newer one, I have mine for sale over in South Beach Harbor. It's listed with City Yachts. It's a 2002.

Hi David. I spent a year looking for a suitable sailboat for the Bay. The best one is C36. If you would like to use it mainly in SF Bay then you want to buy one that is rigged for SF Bay. This means heavier sails. In Southern California the wind is calmer and the jibs are larger. On the Bay you only need a 100 to 110%. If you purchase from outside the Bay you may end up with 150%. There are many available on SF Bay. I decided on a fin keel and 35Hp engine was the correct one for me. Good luck.

It is really nice having so many responses about my search for a boat. We are interested in one right now, but I'll keep you posted.
Thanks!

There's a 96 MkII in Seattle on Craig's List for $75k.
The ad was posted on the 28th under "Boats" and then "Sail."
I know nothing about the boat, but might be able to crew with you (no charge) to move it south come spring.
Best of luck.
