Hi all,
On my 1994 Mk 1.5, the bilge pump switch on the panel is labeled with an Auto and Manual position. There is not an off position. When it's on auto, and I lift up the float switch in the bilge, it comes on as it should.
However, if I put the switch in the manual position, it trips the 15A breaker on the panel. My solution thus far has been to not put the switch in the manual position, but I would like to fix whatever is causing it to trip.
Any suggestions on what/how I should test this?

This is the wiring diagram fir the bilge pump.
Use a voltmeter to find the short that causes the breaker to trip.
