Maxwell wireless remote for windlass

Hello All,
Another newbie to the forum and a "new to me" boat!  My boat as a single UP foot switch at the bow and a wireless remote which can be used for raising and lowering.  I believe it can from Catalina Direct
Windlass Wireless Remote (catalinadirect.com)
The windlass in functioning properly but I can't get the remote to work.  Yes, replaced the battery but when I push the two large buttons to turn the remote on, nothing happens.  The remote has a small light at the top, which I assume, would be lit if the remote was on but it doesn't light up.  Does anyone have any ideas of what going on?  Thanks

I can not help you with the wireless remote.
I installed wired remote with a plug at the cockpit.
