Engine Cover

Just wondering if anyone has replaced or reconfigured the heavy engine cover to make checking and changing oil etc easier.  It has become quite an
issue for us aging sailors with a little back issue.  Thanks in advance

You may want to look at what Gary Price did with his engine cover.

Neil;
 A friend of ours added lead-lined sound proofing material to the inside of his engine box cover never realizing that it added an additional 20 pounds to the overall weight of the cover. Needless to say it was a back-breaker to lift when checking the oil. He put a 10 inch round inspection port into the side and claims its works very well.  Probably a small removable hatch cover would work as well.
