Faucet - checking for any updates

My faucet is leaking from where the braided line to the faucet and the clear water hose meet.  Actually, it came apart.  It's nearly impossible to get to tighten.  Not real interested in cutting a hole.

I picked up a basin wrench but to be honest, it doesn't have any room to operate.

i suspect that I will damage the sink if I try to pull it out.  That leaves taking the counter top off.  Not sure how hard that would be.

open to the easiest option.

I cut a hole with a 4" hole saw behind the settee cushion and installed 4" deck plate. Makes doing anything to the faucet an easy task.

It's pretty much impossible to do anything to the sink/faucet without an access hole.

Thanks for the replies.  Any pictures?  :). I'm curious to see how high you put it.  I suspect the top is visible?

this would definitely let me get at the water lines.  Will also enable me to change the faucet?

TIA

I replaced my faucet with the single lever from Catalina Direct. It was a little more expensive than other brands but I wanted to make sure the base fit. I removed the drawers and cabinet then using a long extension and deep socket, removed the nuts securing the sink. Once the sink is out replacing the faucet is very easy. I did have to slightly grind the counter top opening with my Dremel for the base to clear it. This maybe a bit more work but once the sink is out it very easy to fit, tighten and modify the faucet or counter top which you may not be able to do with cutting an opening behind the cushion.

Cut as high up as you can but make sure it is covered by the cushion

The open shot is perfect!  Thanks so much.  Looks like I am stopping at Harbor Freight for a 4" hole saw.
