My Raymarine ST60/I60 wind unit has given non stop problems since buying our C36. Raymarine has been helpful in suggesting diagnostic procedures. My best guess is the electronic techs who replaced the masthead unit a year and half ago (when we purchased the boat), did a sloppy job with the masthead connector. I'm certainly not taking a hike aloft to study it, and the yard would charge a piece of change to pull the mast...so, my thought is to consider mounting a stern pole and rigging a new masthead unit on that. This certainly would make for much easier maintenance. I speculate one negative is that turbulence from the mainsail might be an issue. Has anybody done this and can suggest a mounting pole source and height? Is this workable with the air rolling off the mainsail?

If you do not want to go up mast you might find a sailing friend to go up.My wife can not pull me up but have a local boat builder to go up for 40$ an hour and did my wind indicator ,took about 1 hr and he washed my mast on the way down
