inverter / charger

It looks like my Heart Freedom 10 unit may have died ( I believe it was original to the boat). I still need to test the transfer switch and internal fuse before the final pronouncement.

If it is gone, what units do other's use and recommend? The Iota chargers seem to have good feedback...how about inverter brands? Combo units are probably not favored, but what about Sterling Combi units? This fix is going to cost some $$$ (at least 1 boat buck)

I've had good luck with Xantrex stuff.  They acquired Heart Interface back in 2000.  Heck, if an electronic gizmo lasted almost 20 years in a marine environment, I'd be tempted to stick with them.  The Xantrex Freedom HF lines might be almost a drop-in.  I'm a fan of the combo units, especially inverters with built-in full-boat (30 amp) transfer switches.

I liked the combo unit. The reason I asked about other brands was there have been many posts citing a decline in Xantrex quality / reliability after the acquisition of Heart. I haven't decided what to buy, but my current unit is dead.

Very pleased with my Pronautic 40 amp charger.  I believe it was recommended on mainsail's site aka treasure trove.
