replacement windows mark I

Hi,
I don't use the email list server but i do read it and noticed that there was a thread about repairing the frames and rubber gaskets on the old Aluminum framed windows. several options were mentioned from using the retrofit kit from Catalina direct to purchase window replacements from catalina owners. the one option i didn't see discussed in contacting "Mark Plastics" they make replacement VINYL window frames with your choice of glass, which is siliconed in, or plastic which is welded in. They are very easy to work with and i've had the windows in place for about 3 years with nary a leak. The windows are easy to install and run about 200 buck on average per window, the larger ones more and the small one less. If you are interested you can simply do a google search on mark plastics and it will pull up the contact info. I am not affiliated with then just good folks to work with. The windows I first ordered were the type with the plastic lens and after about a year one of the windows developed very fine crazing. I contated Mark (of Mark Plastics) and he sent out a new window with a glass replacement at a very reduced price.

fwiw

sure this is one of the smaller windows--it hasn't been cleaned up since i took it off the boat but it should convey the idea. i guess he has a web site now.. they seem to hold up well and they are all custom made to the boat..
