I would like to put together an article for the C36IA Technical library on various anchors and how they 'ride' in our bow rollers. My concerns are stability resting in the bow roller, noting whether the bail is large enough, and the clearance between the anchor and the bow gelcoat.
So here is my request: For those that can take the time to do it, could you please send me a short email giving your name, name of vessel, whether Mk I or Mk II, year and hull number, plus manufacturer and weight of bow anchor. Information on your rode is not necessary. And then, attach a photo of the anchor resting in the bow roller...a side view that shows the clearances, the bail, etc. Please send the photo as an attached *high resolution jpeg* file. Send to me at LCBrandt (at) coastpilot (dot) com.
I want to create a document that can help owners when purchasing anchors to know how they will fit on their bow. Note that this article will NOT address whether a specific anchor is right or not for your cruising area/style.
Thank you for your help!

After many years with our Rocna on our TOY bow roller, I have a tiny little ding in the bow gelcoat. I'm willing to live with that, and could fix it with a small ss plate, which is a good idea for anyone considering this concept. Kinda like a rub strake for the bow!!!

Ouch!
Yup good idea Larry; I've been thinking of getting a Manson/Rocna to replace my CQR and would like to see how it sits on the roller of a MKII...

Thanks Larry for pulling this together. I will send an email this weekend if I don't get to the boat sooner.
