One of the latches on our '00 MKII has failed. Thoughts on sourcing a replacement? I suppose Catalina parts could help but thought I'd try the forum first.

I found that a well stocked hardware store has many of the same parts.

These are the twist turn type and there must be 20 or more on the boat. looks like they may have been made in Sweden?

I think I know which type of latch you're referring to; my '97 MkII has 6 of them, one for the drawer under the galley sink, 3 for the drawers and 2 for the tilt out bins under the forward berth. I have not seen a replacement part for those. I seem to recall calling Catalina (many years ago) and they didn't really know the part or supplier, as they didn't use them anymore.
I replaced all of the knuckle buster latches with the push/pull latches Catalina used in later models. I got mine from Fawcetts in Annapolis; their online store now takes you to pyacht, so don't know what they have.
I just got the latest catalog from Lee Valley/Veritas; they have every kind of cabinet hardware known to man, but don't have that latch. They do have push/pull latches similar to what I got at fawcetts; part numbers are 00S22.10 (brass) 00S22.20 Nickel. Not sure if that's any help or you can find something that will serve your needs.

Bruce, Catalina throughout the years of production used several different types of latches. It might be helpful if you posted a photo of the latch. I had to replace a latch a few years back on my 2002 boat and, if I recall correctly, I found it at Catalina Direct.

Do you mean this one: (interior latch)

I had one broken in my galley area.
Cat Direct calls it the 'new improved version', but the centre piece is silver and my originals are black, so I swapped it out with the engine access one in the aft cabin so that they all matched in my main cabin....

The latches on our 1999 MKII are made by Southco, MP-series.
The MP-series and the later M1-series (Pop-out) latches are here.

Unfortunately the newer M1-series (Pop-out) cannot directly replace the MP-series.
The M1’s have a mounting hole of 1-1/2 inches in diameter and the MP’s have a mounting hole of 1-1/4 inches in diameter.
