I just paid to have my front hatch rebedded (it was leaking around the frame). Now we've had a really rainy day, and the area around the frame is dry but I'm getting leaking around one of the hinges.
I think it's coming in just above the screw that clamps the upper part of the hinge through the lens. I'll post photos if this isn't clear. There's a possibility that the hatch was stressed a bit when coming out for the rebedding, though I haven't yet spoken to the guy who did the work about this "new" problem. Any thoughts?
Also two questions:

What kind of Lewmar hatch is the front hatch on a Mk II? I think it's the Ocean series, judging from Lewmar's web site, but I can't be 100% sure

Is it an easy repair to fix / re-seal the material around the screws that hold the hinge to the hatch lens and the upper frame? Has anybody done this and can comment on overall difficulty / problems I might encounter?
Thanks!
EDIT: Will one of these fix the problem? Anyone have experience with them, and know which size? http://www.hatchmasters.com/product_info.php?cPath=220&products_id=101[/...

I had a similar issue a few years ago by tightening the screws (one on each side) just behind the hinge fixed the issue. Not on the boat, but I remember having to open the hatch all the way to get a screw driver to work behind the hinges. One was loose by about 1/2 turn and it fixed the leak.

To your question about Hatchmasters I sent my hatch to them and they did a great job. New plastic and all new gaskets and the price and turn around time was good
