Counting down to Swiftsure 2012, see the webpage at the link below. There appear to be two Catalina 36s registered, S/V Duke and S/V Nootka. (The registration list online is a bit unclear.)

Nimue, this race sounds like your cup of tea, eh? Why aren't you racing in this so we'd have a C36IA'er to root for?

I believe that Paul will have 'Mata Hari' there as well.
BTW, he was first in class yesterday in the Vashon Island race, run by Seatle Yacht Club.

Yes, it's Mata Hari, Duke, and Nootka...three C36s entered in the Swiftsure. Funny, it appears that all three are racing different classes.

I was signed up to race Swiftsure DoubleHanded on my friends' Express 37. However I have/will race every weekend from April 6 through June 23, and something had to give. Swiftsure came with two long deliveries attached to it and it was easiest to back out of. Mata Hari is going and Duke is a perennial competitor. If I had known there was a 3rd boat going I would have been sorely tempted to take my boat but too late now.

Swiftsure has come and gone. Paul won his class in the Juan de Fuca race. I'm sure that he will post some details. The short story is a day that started light and built through the night. Thirty plus on the wind guage and large waves made for a lot of boatspeed personal bests.
Definitely a day that will make for many gresat stories. The best part of racing often takes place in the tent.
