So, I'm rebuilding my engine and after getting the timing case all cleaned up,  I find the dreaded alternator bracket crack.  I bought this boat 4 years ago and the first thing I did was change the alternator bracket because of the horror stories I read. Stories where chunks of the engine fell off and all the oil slung out of them. Well, I guess it was too little too late.  I'll get it welded up before I reassemble it, but I thought I'd share. If you haven't made the upgrade, your about 30 years late, so check your timing case.
