I've looked over several previous posts on our fuel pumps but could not find one that addressed a fuel pump that runs very fast, and very loud - all the time. It used to start by clicking quickly when the key was turned on, then slow to an occasional click once pressure was up. Now it just clicks fast all the time.
So - do I have a pump going bad, an air leak, etc?
Engine starts and runs fine ( so far ). Checked the internal filter - it was fine. Looked over the engine and bilge - no apparent leaks. Any thoughts?

Is your knurled knob bleed valve open?? Mine is a retrofit. They introduced the bleed valve sometime after 83. Starboard side of engine

Les: Thanks for the post. I didn't think of that and I'm not at the boat right now so I'll check when we get back later this month. I did change the filters this spring but I have only opened that valve once a long time ago. My system seems to bleed itself very well. I'm buying a spare pump just in case since we have a trip planned and I don't want that to get in the way. I'll let you know what I find.
