Hello
Since I own the boat I have the feeling my main sheet is too big for the clutch, what is the recommended size? Any advice on the type of rope, the size and the length I should get?
As you can see in the picture, right now I have a 9/16in (14mm) rope in a spinlock XTS CAM-0814 clutch.
Is it the original clutch shipped with the boat? It looks this clutch was replaced during the lifetime of the boat.

according to page 21 of the manual - it is 80' of 7/16. I'm sure they delivered the boats with lots of different hardware over the years - mostly Schaefer & Garhauer.
Those lines look sad.

I have been using 7/16 line since I have owned my C36, That 80 foot length seems a little short to me. I usually take my old sheets off, measure them, then get five feet longer. Every year I take them off, reverse them to prevent wear in spots and use them again. If they are long enough I untie them, cut off a few feet and retie, this is another way to also move the potential wear spots.

I called Catalina and I believe they said it was 3/8 and 112 feet Call to check . I used a line called warpspeed. Very strong. One thing you will notice ic how easy the main will haul up

That sounds like the main halyard -- not the sheet.
