Wanted to put up a quick post on Spartite for a roller furling mast.  Saw where folks had used the "small" kit successfully on a non-rf.   I bought the large assuming that my last is larger.  note this kit is essentially two small kits.

a small kit has the perfect amount of Spartite and I used every bit of it..  I built the dam to keep the Spartite on the deck collar only and at ~2" in depth.  So i only used half the Spartite.  

However, I did use nearly all the Vaseline and clay.

if you get the small kit you may have to get some extra clay.  It would be a nightmare to have a leak when pouring.  But I'd say that's a lot less than the $60 difference between the two.
