Macerator

Am a new owner of 2005 C-36 MkII....when using macerator pump to pump overboard, how do I know when the holding tank is empty so as not to damage macerator pump impeller by running dry?  Thanx.

Not only would you be able to see a difference, you will hear a difference in the sound of the pump.

David - by "hearing the difference" do you mean the macerator pump will go to a higher pitch 'whine'?  And not sure how I will "see the difference".  Thanx for clarifying

Yes, the pump will speed up and the whine will have a higher pitch.  As the holding tank is emptied, from the cockpit you should be able to see the discoloration of the effluent.
