I just ordered a Raymarine Radome and mast radar mount bracket to install on my tall rig. I am sure there are a few of you out there that have tackled the project and have some tips to share.
I will be installing a RD218 Radome that will connect to my C80 Chartplotter. I was lucky to find a new 25m cable with a 90 degree connector to run from my chartplotter, located in a Navpod at the wheel, to the mast (there are plenty of 5m and 15m and a few 25m with a straight plug, but no 25m with a 90 degree plug out there). I plan on mounting the radome about a foot above the spreaders using the rivets supplied with the mount hardware.
Getting the cable from the chartplotter to the mast shouldn't be a real problem except for pulling and routing all of that 1/2" cable. The big project is getting the cable from the base of the mast up to the radar. Too bad I didn't do this project when I had the mast pulled to rewire the mast a few months ago...
Anyone with some good suggestions/tips will be appreciated...

When I re-ran all my new eltronics I pulled a few messenger lines along the hull. I know what your saying, it is a heavy wire. I had a bear of a time just getting thru the questus pole and around the lazeratte and up th e pedastal to the chartplotter, and then running the hsb wire to the repeater to the nave station.
One word of advise TAKE YOUR TIME, and figure it out before running wires
Oh And I also changed out my pedestal gaurd to 1 1/4" SS
