I'll be changing my Promariner battery charger for the Xantrex charger. Is it as easy switch...disconnect the old and simply replace with the new one?
Thanks for you input and have a great Thanksgiving.

Yes, that is the basic plan to follow but the Xantrex charger has a 3 position switch that must be set for the type of battery you are connecting it to.
It's simple to do, for a gel type, set to gel, for a AGM set to AGM etc.

I replaced my ProMariner two years back with a Xantrex Truecharge 40. The new location was ubder the navstation since the new charger would not fit in the space utilized by the old charger. My ProMariner is located in the Stb lazarette. Upon reading the installation instruction for the Xantrex. they recommend placing a separate fuse in each charging circuit. This meant installing two Blue Sea Maxi Fuse Blocks and 40amp fuses plus heavy wire which added another $75 to the cost of the job.
My ProMariner 20 worked fine for me so I just labeled the wires and keep it in place if needed. Also installed a separate 15 amp fuse on the ac side of the panel for the Truecharge 40.
