Water from bow tank not pressurizing

The water from my bow tank is not pressurizing. The vent is clear, and there is water in the tank. I noticed that the hose comes out of the bottom of the tank, then raises up about 3 feet to a hole in the V-berth running aft(where the wood shelving is).  Shouldn't the hose run down the center of the boat and thru the bilge area to the water manifold? Is the pressure pump suppose to be able to create pressure/suction with air in the line? I have a slight dripping pressure pump- could that be why it doesn't prime and pull water or is it because of this high loop? The boat is new to me so who knows if it ever worked. Thanks

Hi Tad,

We had a similar problem on our boat. I finally removed the entire water manifold and found a kink in the hose about two feet from the valve and the hose itself was split and no longer snug on the nipple despite the hose clamp. I cut three inches off the end of the hose, fixed the kink, and snugged the clamp. We have been good to go after that. Our plumbing is routed like yours with a high run through the bulkheads and head before dropping down to just above the bilge. Hope that helps.

I would do what Paul has suggested, you may have a kink. I had installed a tank in my bow for extra water and I chose the same route. Running the hose through the bilge may be the easiest path, but when you give it some thought, it' may not be the best choice.
