VHF Antenna Location

1999 MK II  In-Mast furling.  This may seem like a dumb question, but where is my VHF Antenna?  I cannot see it at the top of my mast. This boat was purchased  from the original owner last year, no modifications.  I am going to upgrade to a new VHF radio but can't see the antenna.  The existing VHF radio has worked OK, but this seems strange?  The electronics installer asked and I don't have an answer.   Thanks..

Bob,
I'd be willing to bet a large amount of money that your VHF antenna is at the top of the mast.  VHF whip antennas are only 2-3' long and very skinny.  Hard to see from the deck. Also, the type of mast you have makes no difference. Forward of the sail furling cavity is a cavity for halyards and wires.  The wires are in conduits along the forward edge of the mast.  Hope this helps.
