TV Bracket Installation Question.

Ok, I'm back,,,,,again.
Next week will be one year Cancer free, and I figured it's time to start those projects.
Dinghy engine davit installation.
Companion way doors.
Television installation.
I already have everything, and going to tackle TV installation first.
I will be mounting a 32" flat screen on a bracket. It will be located on on the bulkhead between the settee and the head. I am probably going to have to space the mirror out a little for the mounting bolts.
My question from the group is if there is anything in between these two walls, or can i just drill away?
Any and all constructive advice appreciated.

My '97 is 1/2" plywood.   I'd use some sort of backer on the head side, maybe hide it behind the mirror?

Just a thought.  If you have a table that is wall mounted above/beside the settee, you can replace the table with a board.  Then you can mount the TV to the "new" table instead of drill into your bulkhead.  That is how I did it, but I don't currently have a picture to show right now.

Otherwise, you would best cover your bolt with something.  Or just a washer and an acorn nut.

My 2 cents.

The stationary waĺl bracket I used for the 32" flat screen was very flat and the TV is easy to lift off and remove (I. E. No need for a swing - out wall bracket). As the TV is fairly light I didn't need to drill right through into the head, I just used 1/2" deep #10 stainless screws. The cables I ran straight down behind the settee cushion back and to the left over to the outlet, plus a USB extension for a hard drive that sits on the port shelf. The antenna cable runs to Starboard and up behind the mast and up thru the deck beside the mast. I covered the cables with teak pre-cut edging.

The new cam thru - deck fittings are great. Easy to install and water tight. I have a $60 HD antenna strapped to the mast below the boom that I can shift around to face the best direction to pick up free HD channels. The Admiral said she thought the TV was too big until we watched a romance movie lying on the settee, then she declared it just right. ;-)

I added a 22 inch Samsung TV, without making any new holes in the boat. I made a wood block (oak) to fit over the chain plate and replaced two of the chain plate bolts with longer ones. On oak, Old Master, Gel Stain, Maple 81216, brush on wipe off, matches the teak quite well.

The bracket arm lifts off the bracket shoe on the wood block. The TV can be stored away or folded against the cabinet door.
