My shift linkage is loose and sloppy. This leaves me in gear occasionally when I think I am in neutral. This makes docking neatly almost impossible. I checked the transmission shift lever on the transmission case and checked the cable mount at the transmission and they appeared to be tight, so I am convinced the play is in the binnacle and the cable sheath is clamped too loosely, or the center wire is in a hole that is too large.
I cannot figure out how to access the lever where it attaches to the cable, or figure a way to tighten the cable. Any help would be appreciated.

Bill - Look through the Upgrades and Maintenance sections of the website to start. There are Edson PDFs on steering and engine control maintenace. You're going to have to remove the compass, loosen and move the chain to bring the cables up or out. I replaced my engine control cables and I'd used an article from the either the C36 or C34 websites or from a Mainsheet, but I can't find it now. Even with new Teleflex Extreme cables and a new Delrin bushing in the shift lever, there's still quite a bit of play going from Forward to Reverse.
