Throttle position hold

My 2001 36 MKII has a edson pedestal with a Universal 35B. Lately I can't get it to hold throttle position without physically holding the throttle lever. If I try to throttle up, there is not enough resistance in the cable and linkage to hold position. It works its way back down to idle position. Any thoughts or suggestions to correct this?

I had a similar issue with my boat when I bought it 6 months ago (do a search on these forums and you'll see my request and the answers.)

In any event; if you remove the compass you'll find a bolt on the throttle linkage which can be tightened to add more friction.... :D
