Saw signs of salt around thermostat hose. After inspection, found the housing had corroded. Checked with local guys, then with Torreson, all out of stock. Any ideas on where I can find a theromstat housing. 1997 m 35 part no.200262

That *might* be a Kubota part. Not sure but you could take the exploded parts diagram to your local Kubota tractor dealer and find out. I have some Kubota parts diagrams I'll check later today. Is your engine an M35A or M35B? The M35B was brought in sometime around 1997 I gather.
I had a look at the Universal engine diagram and it looks like the part number you quoted is an M35A piece and it is apparently unique to Catalinas as it had a place for the alarm switch. I checked the Kubota equivalent and it is not the same at all.
Are you sure that's the right piece? According to Universal the M35B was introduced in late 1996 and the M35B uses a different housing from what I can see in the parts book. 35A and 35B are completely different engines.
Bill,
Two thoughts. Have you tried Hansen Marine in Marblehead, MA? They are the W/U dealer for New England. Also I just tried to google "universal 200262" and came up with two other sources besides Torrenson.
