Our boat has a slight downward bend at the front of the bow pulpit. Seeking advice from anyone who has straightened one of these out before (or similar bends). I've thought of either levering with a large 4x4, or maybe a hydraulic jack, but concerned that too much pressure might be put on the mounting bolts.
Thoughts?

Matthew,
I agree that you should not put much upward pressure on the mounting bolts, so simply pushing up on the end of the pulpit might not be the best idea. But....if you could somehow leverage the end up, that might work. Maybe build a large 2x4 clamp on the end, and then pry/bend upward? Just thinking out loud here...

Answering my own query:
A 1" conduit bender tool (available at a big box store or electrical supply) did the trick; supplying both upward pressure on the bent section while downward pressure on the rest of the pulpit, thus not stressing the attachment bolts. No visible dimpling.
Waaay too big a tool to keep in the toolbox, but if that seawall at the head of our slip behaves itself and stays away from our boat, I'm hoping we won't have need of it again.
