Good Evening
Our 1988 Mk I Catalina 36 "Hope" is looking a little worse for the wear. Among other things, we would like to replace the white sliding doors that cover cabinets in the galley and the v-berth. There's a similar sliding door with a mirror finish in the head. Any suggestions on what material makes a good door and where to find it?
Thanks much,

Hi,
We did ours with acrylic from the Plastic Shop. You can go with white, or pick whatever colour works for you...we went with a smoked acrylic. Makes a nice update, and easy to work with!
McMaster Carr sells sheets of cast acrylic in opaque colors. They also sell the mirror material

Just to throw out another idea, on my last 36 I used 1/8" teak plywood to replace those sliding doors. I needed to trim the thickness on the top & bottom so they would fit in the track, but they looked really nice.
