Sail Dimension Question...

Are the dimensions for the furling main on my 1999 tall rig the same as a non-furler tall rig? Looking in my manual, all that is given are measurements for standard rig and tall but nothing for the furler. But in my long lifetime I have learned not to presume anything.

Cheers

If you are thinking about getting a new sail ALWAYS measure your own mast demensions including the distance from the mast to the tack as well as the mast hieght or have your sailmaker come out and take the measurments.. Sometimes they very from boat to boat. Trust me on this I speak from experience. Most sailmakers will quote you a price based on the manufacturers dementions then will come out if you accept their estimate.

Thanks, Mike. Having the sailmaker take the final measurements is a no-brainer. I just needed the "close enough" measurements to fill out their online quote forms. However, it won't matter pretty soon as we will be hauling out mid October. At that point, I can take the measurements after I take the main off.
