I did that season, after having a new main built that was loose footed I changed out the line to T-900 8.mmTechnora/Dyneema Double Braid.
I had the rigger remove the cover from the eye splice at the outhaul car to where the line came out of the boom at the foreward end. from there it goes to a turning block, back to a winch on the cab top.

I replaced mine with 1/4" Amsteel grey (dyneema) last year. The end caps came off the boom really easy. I added a cascade to double the power and replaced the blocks in the purchase as they were total junk. Much better now.
The working end that runs to the sail is almost too big for the sheave because it is bulked up from the splice. I would consider getting a new sheave from Garhauer if I was doing it again.
