Light Switch in Companionway

One of most recent upgrades to Carpe Diem (in addition to replacing the hot water heater, i.e.) is installing a light switch in the companioway. I have always wanted a light switch handy as I enter our boat at night. So I installed a waterproof switch that is wired directly to one of our main salon lights on the port side. Rather than shutting all of the 12V power off as we leave the boat, I leave one cabin light on. I surface-mounted a waterproof switch on the starboard side as you enter. By doing so, as you open the doors to the companionway and flip on the switch you are not entering a dark boat at night. I will try to post a photo of where I mounted it.
