Larger Hot Water Heater ?

Has anyone installed a larger hot water heater? Was wondering if there is room for one of the cylindrical 11 gal water heaters ?

Install a thermostatic mixing valve and set the electric water heater element hotter. Engine use can still push it to 170F + and this is why it is an ABYC requirement to have a temperature limiting device on engine heated water heaters. A thermostatic mixing valve will mix incoming cold with outgoing hot and yield more effective capacity.

Bill, I don't think so... at least not in the same location...
on my MkII I replaced the original 'Seaward' brand with a same size and shape (6 gal) from a different manufacturer - and even that one would not fit completely in the same location but had to be placed 4 in. forward because of a 3/4" difference in height...

- but if the height is the same or less and you have room for the substantially longer length of the 11 gal cylinder it might work - I would make a lot of measurements before making the purchase.though.
