Jabsco water pump system problem

Hi to all. I have a 2005 MKII hull no.2253 My problem is the Jabsco water pump keeps breaking.. The present one is only one month old and was sent by Jabson free as a warrenty replacement and is the third one installed, which is now broken. It continues to run all the time the pressure switch seem to be broken. It worked fine for a while and then one of the hoses came loose and it pumped the tank dry into the bildge. I will, tonight, put a pressure gauge inline to check for leaks and that the pressure is held consant with the pump off. My question is is anyone else having this problem with this pump.

Ray,

Have you tried to adjust the little set screw on the end of the pump? As soon as I readjusted my a few months ago it rectified the problem.

Hi glenn thanks do you mean the screw under the gold cover If yes, than no I haven't tried this yet but will try. I checked the pressure and found I had a leak under the sink in the head. Tried to fix but found an interesting thing the shurflo is to have a 1/2-14NPS fitting on the facuet to connect to the water supply. However their is an adapter the goes from 3/8 to 1/2 inch and this is plastic and the treads are striped. Now try to find this adapter, waiting for Catalina's Kent Nelson to call back. I fixed the fitting that was leaking and then made the mistake to touch the other fitting when the leak started and couldn't stop it.

I had a similar problem in terms of the pump constantly coming on and shutting off. Turned out the plastic part in the input filet had cracked and pieces were going into the pump and allowing the pressure to bleed off, reactivating the pump. Cleaned out the pump and replaced the filter ... no more problems.
