When did Catalina update the interior hardware such as drawer pulls, doorknobs, etc. on the C36? I've been looking for a C36, and there's some variety in the interior finishing/trim, even among MKIIs. Some of them seem to have the same old hardware used in my prior 1989 C30, which stick become oxidized, etc. and some are the newer type used in the modern lines.
I am by no means the subject matter expert, but I would guess the upgraded hardware was installed as they switched to the MKIIs. That is of course only a guess as I am a MKI guy and have the older hardware. I would suggest that if you are having issues with the fittings and hardware in the cabin that you give Catalina Direct a call. I'm sure they can help you replace whatever it is.
Darin,
Through the years Catalina has constantly changed/upgraded some of the details of their models, including the C36. Some changes were even made mid-year. It would not surprise me at all to find several changes within several years. Items such as door latches, which can easily be replaced, should not be a deal-breaker, IMHO. Other, more expensive components, should be considered when looking for a boat.
