Garhauer currently has a 20% off sale on this and the kayak racks which I intend to purchase.
It appears I have four options.
1 3/4 " tubing with 26" arm, 100 pound capacity.
1/34 " tubing with 34" arm, 100 pound capacity.
2" tubing with 26" arm, 150 pound capacity.
2" tubing with 34" arm, 150 pound capacity.
My engine is only an 8 horse, but the difference in price between the tubing is minimal, so I will probably go with the 2".
My question is the arm length, 26" or 34"?
I have a 2004 MKII
Thanks.

We have had ours for several years and my wife claims it is the best addition to our boat. I believe the length of the arm depends on where you intend to mount it and the outboard bracket. The base for our davit is on the port swim platform seat and the bracket is on the port stern rail, next to the ladder/swim platform access. We have the 26" arm and it angles upward to be able to move the outbard onto the bracket. It still allows easy mounting on the dinghy. The davit pole and the arm each have two sets of mounting holes to give you options in the installation.

Dave,
Thanks for your input.
I have dinghy davits, and am not sure I can mount the engine hoist in the same place that I think you have yours mounted. My engine is mounted on starboard side, right in front of rear stern seat. I guess i have some measuring to do.

We don't have dinghy davits. Depending on where your davits are mounted, I believe Garhauer has a mounting base that fits on the sloping transom. I think the owner or son at Garhuer(Mark?) has a Catalina 36. If you haven't already done so, you might give them a call.

Dave,
Yes, they do have that bracket, and I am going to call them today.
