Furliing Main; Main Halyard Attachment

While pulling up my main after launching this spring, the small bolt with a plastic cover that resides in the block that slides up the inner foil in a track, keeping the main even as it starts to wrap around the foil, popped out and into the drink.

I'm having a hard time finding where I can get a replacement for what seems a simple part. It's supposedly a Charleston rig but I can't find them anywhere. In the back of my mind I seem to recall that Sparcraft took them over????

Any suggestions on getting the part or jury rigging it? Right now I can't get the main up.

Thanks for any suggestions,

Thanks for the suggestion but they haven't been much help.

If anyone has a furling main and their mainsail is still off, I'd appreciate it if you could send a picture of the main halyard hoist car ( to which the main halyard attaches) so I can show it to the various rigger sources.

The pic shows the  car with the hole into which the piece I am looking for goes into.

I have the same furler, so curiosity caught me on this. Here is a photo which might be the correct halyard car, I added the arrow to the part I think you are talking about. If you still have the long D shackle part I'm guessing you can find a long screw with the correct thread and add a bit of Delrin tube to the end.  Maybe something like 3/8 inch tube, you can measure the hole. Might be metric and probably will need some sanding to fit.
I'll be on the hard in a week or two, if needed I can lower the main and measure the parts then.
Good luck!

Thanks... what you highlighted is what I need but it seems, incredulously enough, you can't just buy that part; you have to buy the whole collar for about $800 - $1,000, from what I found.

I have  a shackle that fits and the original bolt and figure I can get some spacer washers to recereate that tube like piece.

When I first wrote, I didn't realize the shackle was attached thru the upper lip of the hoist car.

OK, final post on this. I found I could get the part from Catalina Direct... you just have to know what to ask for.

For reference, the part is called  the "Anti Rotation Sleeve Furling Main". ...Probably I'm the 10% that never gets the word and everyone else knew that!
