forward hatch

I may have goofed up. My forward hatch was making a horrible screaching noise every time I opened or closed it, so I sprayed the hinge/ latch with a small amount of WD-40. The hatch now opens and closes really smooth and with no noise. Its so smooth that it no longer stays in the "open" position....(the weight of the hatch closes it on its own)...so it does not "ratchet" and stay open at different levels.

Do I just need to let the WD40 "wear off" or is there anything I can do to fix this?

On either side of the handle to use in the middle to pull it clsed you will find a little allen wrench nut. Use your allen wrench and tighten it just a little bit that should rectify the problem.

Glenn,

I actually saw allen screws on each side of the "hinge" and could only tighten them slightly (they were already pretty tight and I didn't want to tighten anymore and possibly crack a fitting). It didn't seem to help, but if that's the fix, I'll try again next time at the boat. Thanks for your feedback.
