Following to recent Alternator belt Column in MainSheet

Thought I would post here what I ended up with to tighten the Alternator belt.  The C36 tech column discussed several methods I've used, including ratchet handles, Supco tensioners.  Taking a cue from hot riddlers I built a tensioner with heim joints.  I finally got it to fit without running into my oil lines.

It works great!!  I can micro adjust and unlike the Supco, it keeps the tension exactly where I set it.

this works on the M35 with the adjustment going over the top of the alternator, with a bonus of not needing the short arm I have on mine.
