Expansion tank M35

In my '93 36 with the M35 engine I can't seem to locate the expansion tank for the coolant. I know the 1995 model has it located in the cockpit locker.
Was there one installed on the earlier models? In the process of winterizing this new to me boat and could use some suggestions.
Thanks

I have a M35A engine (30hp) and it has an expansion tank in the cockpit locker.

Mine also the M35A doesn't have an expansion tank. The filler cap on the exhaust manifold is the highest point in the system

Do you have a hose coming off under the tank cap?

On the 35A the filler cap neck has a small hose nipple. My engine has a short piece of tube on it that diverts any antifreeze emitted down to drain into the engine pan. If I top off the antifreeze it typically will expell some until it finds a happy level usually down about 1/2"-3/4 below the top. Attachment shows the cap from the 35A brochure.

Gary, to avoid the drips, buy a small Rubbermaid container with the screw on lid. The opening is just the right size for the overflow hose. I used two large plastic wire ties and put it on the wall of our engine compartment.
