Engine/Gearbox Bolts

Our 320 had some issues over the weekend, so I thought I would share the incident with the group.
Any comments or suggestions appreciated.

Hi Simon
On Friday the 23rd Rocket went out on charter , when they started the motor of Nara there was no propulsion .They sailed back to Funnel Bay where the chase boat met them and a mechanic jumped on board thinking the circlip had come of the cable or at worse broken cable … He discovered that the left hand nut that holds the gearbox to the coupling had come undone !! So they stayed in APM that nite , discussion with the mechanics that nite they predicted a new gearbox and the engine needed to be put in the saloon ..made for a bad nights sleep .
Saturday morning bright and early sent the charterer of on a seaplane flight the motor only had to be moved fwd 6ins and there was no damage to the thread on the gearbox shaft even the seal was ok ( the oil was dumped that’s why it is quite messy in the enginr bay ) all fixed by 10.30am..slept much better that night

The cause is the nut locking washer was not curled .
Also the drive plate is a bit rattly so that will need to be replaced soon …
Will attempt to see if there is a warrenty claim .
Do call if you have a spare moment.

Regards
John
