Electric Anchor Winch

I have a C375, only 2 months old and the anchor winch just doesn't seem right. It is a Maxwell RC10, electric up and down.

When I drop the anchor down in say 5 metres of water and I take my foot off the down button, the anchor still keeps running out till it hits bottom.

When going astern to set the anchor, instead of it setting and pulling the boat up, it pulls the chain out first. I've used electric winches on my other boats and I could always stop the anchor or set the anchor without this occurring. Then I'd put a snubber on.

With this winch it seems that I have to put a snubber on to set the anchor.
The chain is the correct size and the clutch is done up tight.

Anybody have any ideas before I chase up the agent?

Maccas from what you describe in my experience it has to be the clutch not engaging. If it's done up tight then maybe it was installed incorrectly.

Good luck!
