Dodger advice needed...

Overall the dodger looks gorgeous, and I am more than a little excited about choosing polycarbonate windows--windows that I can not only see through, but are crystal clear! I haven't been able to see through my dodger windows since I bought the boat three years ago. What a difference!

However, wife and I discovered what looks like a minor flaw in the dodger. If you click on the picture and look just behind the grab rail, and just above the boat window (and power coord) where the dodger snaps onto the boat, you will notice a small ripple/crease in the fabric between the snaps.

Not having had any experience in replacing dodgers, or what is considered acceptable work, my wife and I have been pondering whether we should bring this issue up with the canvasser. It is a minor detail, but at the same time it does not look like an easy fix.

Any thoughts?

Here's another picture, not to emphasize the flaw, but rather to show off the gorgeousness of my new windows!

Joel,
I've looked and looked and looked, but I cannot find the "flaw" you mention.  The dodger looks gorgeous!  One minor detail that you might want to do, is to have some covers made for the SS dodger support tubes, where they are next to the windows.  Any time you have metal next to plastic, the metal will get very hot in the sun, and actually burn the plastic.  I made a set of wrap-around covers for my dodger frame with fuzzy grey material and velcro.  Cheap and effective.  Just a thought.

It's the diagonal crease/wrinkle between the two snaps just above the rear of the large black boat window where the dodger snaps to the side of the cabin. And you are quite right about the need for a cover. I am having one made as we speak that covers the entire dodger (not just the windows).

I just reread your comment and now realize you were talking about something totally different. Excellent idea to make covers for the SS tube where they touch the windows. I noticed on my old dodger my windows were totally discolored where the tube touched the vinyl windows, but I never put two and two together. Now I realize the discoloration was the result of precisely what you are talking about. Majorly helpful tip, Tom...thanks!
